Slesvigske Musikkorps

About

Slesvigske Musikkorps (SMUK) is one of the Danish Armed Forces' three full-time professional music corps, based at Haderslev Kaserne in southern Jutland. Founded in 1778 in service of Prince Frederick VI at Gottorp Castle, it carries one of the longest military music traditions in Denmark. The ensemble of 16 brass players and percussionists performs at official ceremonies, military parades and public concerts across Denmark and abroad, with a repertoire ranging from classical and romantic works to big-band arrangements.
