Sólstafir is an Icelandic band formed in Reykjavík in 1995. They started out playing black metal but gradually moved toward a broader, atmospheric rock sound with post-rock and shoegaze influences. Their 2011 album "Svartir Sandar" is among their best-known releases and marked a turning point in style.
