Spirit of Smokie is a tribute band dedicated to the music of British rock group Smokie, fronted by Dean Barton - son of the late Smokie lead singer Alan Barton. The band came together in March 2008 at a memorial concert for Alan, who died in 1995 following a tour bus accident in Cologne. Dean's voice carries a striking resemblance to his father's, and the band has since built a loyal following through extensive touring across Europe and Russia. Alongside the Smokie catalogue, they have also released original material, including the album "Changes" under the name Barton.
The band is currently on tour in Europe and traveled from a concert towards Berlin.
