About
Sub Focus is the stage name of English DJ and producer Nicolaas Douwma (born 1982, Guildford, Surrey), who has shaped the drum and bass scene since 2003 with a sound that pulls from dubstep, house and electro. He broke through on RAM Records with singles like "X-Ray" (UK Dance Chart #1, 2005) and "Rock It" (UK Top 40, 2009), before the album Torus (2013) reached #11 on the UK Albums Chart. His most recent solo album, Contact, came out in 2025 featuring guests including Grimes and Fireboy DML.
