The Shedding is a solo performance created and performed by Norwegian contortionist Elise Bjerkelund Reine. It weaves together circus, performance art, theatre and dance to explore transformation, life changes and a love that stretches to the point of death. The work turns a critical eye on the sexualisation of the contortionist body and romanticised depictions of violence against women.
