About

Thomas Fryland (born 1969 in southern Jutland) is a Danish jazz trumpeter with a career spanning more than three decades as a bandleader, sideman, and educator. He trained at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague under teachers including Barry Harris and Ack van Rooyen, and has since recorded and toured with Phil Woods, Benny Golson, Randy Brecker, and Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, among others. He was a member of the DR Big Band from 1998 to 2005, and currently teaches at the Royal Academy of Music in Aalborg.
