Næstved Metalfest 2026
A three-day metal festival with 32 bands on 3 stages, featuring international and Danish metal acts, plus biergarten, food trucks, and a metal market.
Týr is a folk metal band from Tórshavn in the Faroe Islands, founded in January 1998 by guitarist and vocalist Heri Joensen and bassist Gunnar H. Thomsen. Named after the Norse god of law and justice, the band weaves heavy metal with Faroese folk tradition and lyrics rooted in Norse mythology and Viking history. Nine studio albums - most recently "Battle Ballads" (2024) - have established them as one of Europe's most distinctive voices in folk and Viking metal.
Týr is embarking on the "Valhalla Calling Europe Tour" with their self-titled tenth studio album as the starting point - the tour covers 15 countries and 27 concerts.
Týr performed on the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise in January/February 2026.
The band participated in the Paganfest 2025 tour in Europe with Alestorm and Ensiferum, among others.
The ninth studio album "Battle Ballads" was released on April 12, 2024 via Metal Blade Records and received generally positive reviews.
Týr completed their first North American tour since 2019 with over two dozen cities from Baltimore to Greensboro.
