Ryan Davis & the Roadhouse Band

Ryan Davis & the Roadhouse Band is an American Americana and country rock project led by songwriter Ryan Davis. Davis has long been a fixture in Louisville's music scene - as frontman of State Champion and founder of the record label Sophomore Lounge - but with the Roadhouse Band he steps fully into the spotlight as a solo artist.

The debut album Dancing on the Edge came out in the United States in 2023 to widespread acclaim, built around sprawling, song-centered compositions that draw on classic country, folk, and roots rock. The songs follow loose, exploratory structures with room for shifts in mood and collective arrangements. In 2025, Davis followed up with New Threats from the Soul, pushing further into existential lyrics, dry humor, and a warm organic band sound. The Roadhouse Band is a genuine collective rather than a backing group, central to the music both on stage and in the studio.
