Sigh is a Japanese metal band formed in Tokyo in 1990 by multi-instrumentalist Mirai Kawashima. Over more than three decades, the band has built a reputation as one of the most experimental acts in the genre. Their debut album Scorn Defeat was recorded in 1993 and released the following year, placing Sigh among the earliest Japanese contributions to the international black metal scene. Subsequent releases on Cacophonous Records - Infidel Art, Hail Horror Hail, and Scenario IV: Dread Dreams - developed their sound further, with Hail Horror Hail in particular drawing wide international acclaim. Later moves to Century Media, Season of Mist, Candlelight, and The End Records saw the band push into progressive, symphonic, and avant-garde territory on albums such as Imaginary Sonicscape, Hangman's Hymn, and Scenes from Hell. Their most recent album, Shiki (2022), is performed entirely in Japanese and incorporates traditional instruments. Sigh have played major festivals worldwide, including Hellfest, Roadburn, and Metal Magic Festival.

Support comes from Devil Master, a black metal and punk band from Philadelphia formed in 2015. Drawing on early Japanese hardcore alongside black metal and deathrock, they signed to Relapse Records after two sold-out demos and released the compilation Manifestations (2018), followed by the debut album Satan Spits on Children of Light (2019). Their second album, Ecstasies of Never Ending Night, appeared in 2022. Live, the band are known for corpse paint and a visual aesthetic rooted in occultism and dark spirituality.
