Creative Writing and Young People's Mental Health

Can creative writing contribute positively to young people's mental health? This evening explores that question through a conversation and writing workshop in Kultursalen at Musikskolen in Thisted.

The conversation brings together author Laurits Balker, researcher, dramatist and performance artist Rebekka Boyding, and researcher and museum inspector Signe Uldbjerg. In 2026, Laurits Balker published the poetry collection Hey Guys Hey Guys, which explores his struggle with severe mental illness. Both Rebekka Boyding and Signe Uldbjerg have contributed to the book Writing and Health - Uldbjerg as editor.

Following the conversation, Signe Uldbjerg and Boyding will lead a writing workshop. The event is for young people aged 15-27 only. Tickets are purchased via Billetto.dk.
