Steen Kyed Trio feat. Christina von Bülow

Steen Kyed Trio invites you, in collaboration with Jazz Danmark, to the concert series "Six Sundays at Bartof" - six Sundays in 2026 at Bartof Café, celebrating 100 years of Danish jazz. Each Sunday the trio meets a guest from the Danish jazz scene, and this evening saxophonist Christina von Bülow takes the stage.

Together the trio and von Bülow blend the jazz standard tradition with their own modern sound world in a programme of both original compositions and well-known classics.

Christina von Bülow has been one of the most distinctive voices in Danish jazz since the 1990s and has received numerous awards for her work. In 2022 she became the first Dane to receive the Swedish Gullin Prize for "with her heartfelt, intimate and imaginative playing and brilliant improvisations contributing to bringing the music to life in a way that makes it timeless". She has had private lessons with Stan Getz and has both studied under and performed concerts with alto saxophonist Lee Konitz. Among her many albums is "Det regnar i min stad" - recorded with Claes Jansson - which in 2023 earned her nominations for Danish Music Awards in the categories Best Jazz Release and Best Jazz Composer.

Steen Kyed Trio consists of Steen Kyed (guitar), Jon Bruland (bass) and Anders Pedersen (drums and percussion). The trio has released two albums: "Udyr" (2022) and "Kravl" (2025). The three musicians have together played and toured with, among others, Mikkel Nordsø, Fourplay, Guinga, John Abercrombie, Caroline Henderson, Anne Linnet, Palle Mikkelborg, Erann DD, Mossa Diallo, Alberte Winding, Sergio Mendes, Donna Summer, Nanna and Pointer Sisters.
