Kenni - Voices of the Streets

Kenni grew up with an absent father and a violent stepfather, encountering alcohol and drugs early on. From age 15, his days involved more than a newspaper route and bottle-collecting job - he also began dealing drugs for people in the motorcycle club scene.

His teenage years and twenties were marked by drug-related crime. Despite several attempts at education, it was always the other life that pulled him in. In 2005 came a major wake-up call: after a heavy night out, he remembers nothing from the next 14 days. He tried to get help from the municipality without success, and then drifted for several years - selling and using drugs, sleeping on the street and on friends' sofas.

The turning point came when he locked himself in his apartment for a whole year, and when his girlfriend became pregnant and gave him an ultimatum: the old life or her and the child. Kenni tells all of this on a guided tour around Aalborg.
