Nagieb Khaja - War Correspondent

War correspondent, author, and documentary filmmaker Nagieb Khaja - internationally recognized and winner of the Cavling Prize 2021 - gives a lecture on the mechanisms that drive people into extreme environments.

He has met leaders and members of jihadist groups in Afghanistan and Syria and explains how recruitment works and which social, religious, and political factors play a role. The lecture also examines how war affects civilians and what causes thousands to leave their homes - illustrated through concrete stories and broader perspectives.
