The Story of Poul

The Story of Poul follows a primary school teacher and gay man in 1980s Copenhagen who is diagnosed with HIV. He keeps his illness secret, but when he loses a close friend to the same diagnosis, he realizes he must come out - to his class, to parents, and to a society gripped by fear.

The production is a tribute to those who make a decisive difference for others, and a story about standing by yourself when it is hardest - and about the responsibility we all bear for how we are in the world with one another.
