Library Club Café Evenings - Villads Kok Mortensen: Motorcycle Across the World's Highest Mountain Passes
Kalundborg Bibliotek og Borgerservice, Kalundborg · 75–95 kr. · ≈ 10–13 €
Villads Kok Mortensen has spent the last 12 years traveling by motorcycle through Peru, Madagascar, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Vietnam, and several other countries. This lecture focuses on his journeys through the Himalayan region: from picking up hitchhikers at 4,500 meters altitude and attending colorful Hindu weddings to sharing salted tea with a Muslim family in Kashmir and joining morning prayers with monks singing in Buddhist monasteries in Ladakh - and not least his journey through the desert on one of the world's highest roads on the Tibetan Plateau.
The lecture is a photo presentation from his travels with personal anecdotes and covers the culture, history, and religions of the Himalayas.
Price: 95 kr.; members of the Library Club pay 75 kr. The ticket includes the lecture, coffee, tea, and sweets. Tickets are not refunded after purchase unless the organizer cancels. Read more and join the Library Club for free at www.kalundborgbib.dk/klub
