Library Club Café Evening - Anders Fischer: 5,200-Year-Old Murder Case Solved

Archaeologist and investigation leader Anders Fischer presents the solution to a murder committed over 5,200 years ago. Near Hjørring, the remains of a man were found in a bog - killed by eight blows to the skull. Archaeological investigations, DNA analysis, and scientific methods have since mapped both the murder and the man's background: he was an immigrant from northern Norway or Sweden, and the population of North Scandinavia at that time had dark or black skin.

The lecture also touches on the latest DNA research on the origins of Danes and the population changes that took place in ancient Denmark - based on finds from several hundred skeletons. Anders Fischer, M.A., is affiliated with the National Museum and international projects where skeletons, DNA, and isotope analysis are used to map human origins, diet, and migrations.
