Library Club Café Evenings - Jakob Maagaard: By Moped to Russia

Jakob Maagaard recounts his moped journey to Russia - through deserts and snow-capped mountains, across the steppes past poppies and camels, and encounters with patriotic Russian motorcycle clubs and Kazakhstani teenagers.

The lecture explores what it means to place your life in the hands of strangers, and why the effort of travel is worth it. Maagaard is a 34-year-old adventurer, co-founder of the collective De Sydvendte Spande, and has spent recent years traveling through 40 countries by moped.
