Klaus Mølmer introduces quantum physics and explains how the quantum behaviour of atomic particles underlies both existing technologies and the revolutionary technologies that may be on the horizon.

About the venue: Kulturhuset Elværket

Kulturhuset Elværket occupies Frederikssund's former municipal power station, built in 1914 and converted into a cultural centre in 1994 by the architectural firm Mangor & Nagel. It is run by Elværksforeningen, a private user association of around 130 member groups. The building holds a main hall for up to 250 people, a café with rotating art exhibitions, and two smaller meeting rooms. Music, theatre, lectures and courses fill the programme - typically more than 1,000 events a year.

About: Klaus Mølmer

One of Denmark's leading theoretical physicists, Mølmer has shaped the field through the Mølmer-Sørensen gate, now used in top quantum computing labs worldwide. He is equally at home on stage as in the lab, translating the paradoxes of the quantum world into terms any curious mind can grasp.
