Havets Folkemøde in Solrød, August 22, 2026

Havets Folkemøde is a public festival by the waterfront where nature activities, debates, and activism take place side by side.

The day is organized by the Køge Bay Alliance, which consists of several municipalities along Køge Bay and the Danish Nature Conservation Association.

The event is for both politically engaged visitors interested in learning about the green transition, the state of the sea, and the Øresund region's marine nature reserve - and for families and children who can learn hands-on in the rock pool or hunt for crabs with waders, binoculars, and an underwater drone.

Parliamentarians and mayors will answer questions about the challenges facing the sea and the bay. Listen to prominent speakers discuss Køge Bay and how the green transition and other initiatives become concrete reality locally.

The northern part of Øresund is already designated as a marine nature reserve, and the Køge Bay Alliance is working hard to extend it to include Køge Bay.
