DN Morsø Lecture and Annual Meeting — Nykøbing M

DN Morsø's annual meeting opens with a lecture by Jan Audun Rasmussen, museum inspector at MusumMors and Ph.D. in geology. Jan has worked intensively to have Hanklit nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the lecture covers the knowledge hidden in deposits of moler and volcanic ash layers dating back 55 million years.

These layers contain fossils of fish, insects, plants, turtles, and songbirds, and the moler also holds traces of climate fluctuations studied with great interest. The lecture will also address the work towards achieving UNESCO recognition.

Following the lecture, DN Morsø's board will present a report on the year's work, and elections to the board will be held in accordance with the bylaws. Everyone is welcome to attend, but only members have voting rights and are eligible for the board.
