In October 2026, bassist, composer and conductor Bo Stief turns 80, and the occasion is marked with a celebration tour - including a concert at Elværket.

On stage, a new generation of emerging musicians perform alongside the jubilarian, who throughout his career has left his mark on musical life both at home and internationally.

About the venue: Elværket Åbyhøj

Elværket is a community cultural centre in Åbyhøj, housed in the former local power station built in 1913 and extended in 1927, which supplied electricity to the area until 1965. After years of work by local volunteers, it reopened in 2016 with the original red brick walls and high ceilings intact. The main hall holds up to 150 guests and hosts concerts, lectures, exhibitions and communal dinners. The venue is run entirely by volunteers and has a particularly strong music programme.

His annual tribute to Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen has become a fixture in Danish jazz.
