Folkeuniversitetet: David Bowie - Life and Work

2026 marks ten years since Bowie's death and 50 years since his first Danish concerts. This lecture explores the great works of the 1970s and places them in perspective with Western cultural history and artists such as William S. Burroughs, Andy Warhol, Lou Reed, Edgar Allan Poe, and Bob Dylan.

The lecturer is Espen Strunk, a cand.mag. in literary history, author, and music journalist. He has interviewed many of rock's greatest names and published the book "The Last Rock Journalist" in 2019 - a collection of conversations with Lou Reed, John Cale, and Leonard Cohen, among others.
