More than 300 million people are today fleeing, displaced, or seeking a better life elsewhere. Add to this the massive movement from countryside to city happening across the globe. The number of people on the move is historically high - but the phenomenon itself is ancient. Mass migrations have shaped humanity since its beginning, driven by vastly different forces and with vastly different consequences. This lecture series examines this long history to shed light on today's challenges.
