Kolding Talks: Murder and DNA

Old cases can be solved with new methods - and DNA has made it possible to identify perpetrators who would otherwise have escaped justice and provide answers to relatives who have waited for years.

Murder investigator Martin Wittrup Enggaard and journalist and author Louise Dalsgaard draw on their own experiences, court cases and diary notes as they examine Danish and foreign cases where modern methods have exposed perpetrators. Among the cases they discuss is the murder of Hanne With in Copenhagen on New Year's Eve 1989, where the perpetrator was first identified through DNA. The lecture also looks ahead: how will serious crimes be investigated in the future, and why can no murderers count on remaining hidden forever?

After the lecture, there will be an opportunity for questions from the audience. Kolding Talks is a collaboration between adult education schools and the library in Kolding.
