Book Club: 'The Adult Child' by Olga Ravn

Book Club is for everyone who enjoys reading and discussing books together. Librarian Flora Juul Ørskov hosts and guides the conversation about the book.

This time the focus is on 'The Adult Child' by Olga Ravn. The unmarried Christenze Kruckow is accused of witchcraft and flees from South Funen to Aalborg - called "the city of hatred" by the book's narrator, a magical wax doll. In Aalborg she quickly finds her place in a close community of women, but rumours of her devilish arts follow her. In the background lurks Christian IV, who from his royal palace has decided to eradicate the country's witches. The novel is based on real events from 17th-century North Jutland.
