ELRO Day: Hunting Rides and Free Entry
Det Grønne Museum, Auning · free entry
Saturday, September 5, there is free entry to Det Grønne Museum and the neighbouring museum Gammel Estrup as part of this year's ELRO Day.
This year's theme is apples, and eight of the museum's volunteer guilds demonstrate how apples have shaped Danish food culture, craftsmanship, and everyday life. Visitors can press apples, bake æbleskiver (Danish pancakes), taste æbleflæsk (apple and pork), apple cake, and home-brewed beer - and hear stories about apples in Danish folklore. The museum's volunteers also demonstrate traditional crafts and working methods.
On this particular day, there is also hunting rides in the area, where you can see the horses and meet the riders. At Gammel Estrup there is, among other things, a riding course for children.
ELRO Day is made possible by the ELRO Foundation.
