Nature's Day - SENSE CHECK for children, families and adults
Haderslev · free
Meeting point is the Grillhytten at Aarø Harbour. The tour takes you to the beach to collect wild edible herbs, then to Julekirken, through the old town and out into nature - at a pace everyone can keep up with.
Along the way we taste the wild herbs, play nature bingo and take a couple of breaks. The tour ends at Grillhytten, where the winner of the 2026 NATURE BINGO is announced and receives a small prize.
The round trip is approximately 3 km on foot. Feel free to bring a bucket, magnifying glass and some drinks and fruit. Participation is free, but there are limited places - registration is required.
The organisers are Marianne Weiman (formerly Brummersgaard, Aarø) and nature guide Gitte Andersen (Haderslev). There is a free ferry for pedestrians between Aarøsund and Aarø from 10:00-18:00 - see the ferry schedule here: https://www.haderslev.dk/media/aoin1icg/aaroefaergens-sejlplan-haderslev-kommune.pdf
The event is part of "Aarø Naturø", a development project under Haderslev Municipality with support from the Nordea Foundation. Read more at haderslev.dk/aarønaturø
