Author Meeting at Brecht's House: All for One - a novel about Ruth Berlau
Svendborg Bibliotek, Svendborg · free entry
Andrea Paluch discusses her novel All for One, which tells the story of Ruth Berlau - actress, director, photographer, author and adventurer who in 1928 cycled alone from Copenhagen to Paris. Today Berlau is remembered primarily for her role as one of Bertolt Brecht's collaborators and lovers - the one she gave everything for.
The novel begins in Brecht's house, where the famous playwright lived in exile, and which Andrea Paluch later was allowed to use as a literary residence. In the place where Brecht and Berlau met for the first time, the relationship between the two becomes almost tangible. It all starts with a gentle, questioning "Hello!" - from Brecht's side.
The event takes place outdoors, so dress according to the weather. The board of Brecht's House offers a glass of wine in the garden. Admission is free - just show up.
