Local True Crime from 1858: A Historical Murder Case Near Randers

In 1858, a murder was committed at the manor house Holbækgaard near Randers Fjord. It begins on a Whit Monday when four young servants walk together along familiar paths - until one of them chooses to continue alone. The other three remain behind, and there begins the story of dark passions.

Author Tom Thinggaard Pedersen has spent 2-3 years researching the case and tells of that fateful evening, the society, culture and traditions of the time in and around Randers - and follows the story all the way to the trial. It ends with an execution by beheading on the scaffold at Drastrup field, witnessed by hundreds of spectators and dragoons from Randers attempting to control the crowds.
