Debut Authors Festival at the Library

Hovedbiblioteket celebrates 2026 as a strong year for debut fiction with an evening featuring three debut authors.

Three writers will be interviewed by literary mediator Nanna Damsgaard-Larsen and read aloud from their books:

Nanna Holm with the novel Røde Port - a story set during one summer in the collective Røde Port on Langeland, where three children navigate their parents' chaos and their own teenage emotions. We meet them again as adults, collectively approaching that fateful summer.

Dean Butt with the novel Vi er rigtige engle - a portrait of a sibling pair growing up in a Danish-Pakistani family in Valby, where parents struggle with addiction. A childhood spent in crisis shelters and children's homes, but also moments of tenderness and dreams of being Beyoncé, Sandy from Grease, or a powerful wizard.

Johanne Sorgenfri with the novel Folk ser helst at man ikke vier sit liv til besættelsen af et andet menneske - about a woman obsessed with her ex-partner, a Christmas party at a brewery, two men traveling to Austria, and a man whose wife is dying - and how their different fates intertwine.
