Tobias Hamann - From Tulip Ads to Dostoevsky

Tobias Hamann gained widespread attention in spring 2026 when he published "Influenza" - a book about ten years as an influencer in an industry that brought him financial success but also tested his values.

His CV includes The Great Bake-Off, baking and travel programmes on DR, hypnotherapy training in the USA, cookbooks, a sausage roll ad, and online storms over e-numbers and carnival buns. Shortly after publication, he switched off his online life to return to what he loved before screen addiction took over - including reading.

At Herlev Main Library, literature mediator Nanna Damsgaard-Larsen talks with him about the literature that shaped him and the questions his book raises: how to break free from a life dependent on being online - both economically and socially - and whether fiction can help restore a sense of authenticity.
