'The Librarians' - A Film About Banned Books in the USA

In 2021, the so-called Krause List - containing 850 titles about race and LGBTQIA+ issues - triggered a wave of book bans in Texas that has since spread across the United States. The film follows librarians who refuse to back down and continue fighting for free access to knowledge despite harassment, threats, and legislation targeting their work.

Along the way, the librarians uncover connections between local boards and the more extreme forces behind the censorship movement - and show that the battle over books is really about controlling ideas and, by extension, society as a whole.
