This event reveals the winning project from the Lys1 tender, and the first illustrations of the upcoming building are presented to the public.

Lys1 is planned as a shared community hub with space for a library, citizen services, sports facilities, local archive, and more - designed for all generations.

The event is free and requires no registration.

About the venue: Højbjerg Bibliotek

Højbjerg Bibliotek on Oddervej serves the Højbjerg, Holme and Skåde neighbourhoods, with catchment areas extending to Beder, Malling and Mårslet. The two-storey building houses adult collections and citizen services on the ground floor, while the first floor holds the children's library, newspapers, periodicals and study spaces. Regular events for children and adults run throughout the year, alongside rotating art exhibitions. From 2027, a new cultural centre called LYS1 is planned to replace the current library.
