About the book: When Anne's boyfriend breaks up with her over a lukewarm mulled wine at a Christmas market - telling her she's too sweet for him - it hits hard. Everyone knows that "sweet" is just another word for "boring" when you live in a big city. Fortunately, Anne has a close group of friends: the clever Rasmine, the sexy Katinka, and the quirky My, who suggest she start therapy to work through her attachment patterns with men. Anne's psychologist, however, turns out to be more interested in the friend group itself - according to the psychologist, it's full of microaggressions and internal power struggles, and Anne needs to learn to set boundaries.

"Sweet Thing" is a dark-humoured romantic comedy that explores what happens when therapy language enters everyday life and might be used as a weapon - and why the worst thing you can be is utterly ordinary.
