The Great Sledge Journey with Knud Rasmussen and Arnarulunnguaq — Nakskov Bibliotek, Nakskov

Folk high school principal Tyge Mortensen gives a lecture about Arnarulunnguaq - polar explorer Knud Rasmussen's faithful companion on The Great Sledge Journey across Greenland. The lecture focuses on her life, her role in the expedition, and her significance for Greenland's cultural heritage.

The event takes place on Monday, August 31st and starts at Nakskov Library at 15:00. No registration is necessary.

15:00-15:30: Lecture on The Great Sledge Journey by Tyge Mortensen (Nakskov Library)
15:30-16:00: Joint walk from the library to the bell tower
16:00 at the bell tower by Sønderport:
• Greenlandic choir opens the event
• Otto Paludan (Peter Freuchen Society) speaks
• Navarana (Peter Freuchen's granddaughter), who turns 80, speaks
• Tyge Mortensen (Galleri Svinestien) speaks
• David Peter Fox (creator of the talking statues) speaks
• Closing: Navarana scans the QR code, and the statue of Arnarulunnguaq speaks out over the square via loudspeaker
