Dramatic Reading Circles

Silkeborg Library is continuing its dramatic reading circle programme into autumn 2026, following a successful spring run. No prior experience with drama is needed.

The group meets three Tuesdays from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM: September 8, October 6, and November 10. Facilitator Emma Svankjær Morel leads all three sessions. At one of the meetings, a professional playwright will visit the group to discuss writing for the stage.

Plays are read aloud on a phone - guidance is provided. If you prefer paper or don't have a smartphone, you can print the script in advance (email esm@silkeborg.dk for details). There is no preparation required at home; the text is read aloud together, and afterwards you discuss plot, characters, and whatever else comes to mind. You'll receive inspiration materials and tips on where to find more drama.

Participation is free, but places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. It's an advantage, but not a requirement, to attend all three sessions.
