Author Talk: Nanna Holm on Røde Port

Debut novel Røde Port has become one of this year's major reader favorites, and on Sunday author Nanna Holm visits Silkeborg Library for a conversation about the novel with literary mediator Anne Juul Andersen.

Røde Port tells the story of children who grow up too fast and adults who cannot escape their childhood. The action takes place at a leisure collective on Langeland one summer as the Cold War draws to a close - the adults dream big and party late, while the children drift through drowsy days and restless nights. Friends Aske, Gry and Mona try to navigate the edge of their teenage years in growing chaos.

Decades later, the three childhood friends struggle to find their footing - in relationships, in family life and in themselves. When the last fateful summer at Røde Port begins to press itself upon them again, the three come together and become each other's bulwark against free fall.
