Learn More About Roskilde Sparekasse and Johannes Dam Hage

Torben Stevold tells the story of Roskilde Sparekasse - from its founding in 1833 and the move to the new building at Stændertorvet 5 in 1866 until the savings bank finally left the building in 2026. Along the way, we also hear about founder Johannes Dam Hage, described as a free thinker, and his fate. After the presentation, there is an open forum for questions and discussion with the audience.

Torben Stevold is a former director of Danske Bank in Roskilde and chairman of Roskilde Museum Association. He is also co-founder of Ordet er Frit, an initiative to promote broad democratic dialogue.

The event is part of the series "Learn More About", which focuses on knowledge and research and is held in collaboration with RUC, the Viking Ship Museum, ROMU, DTU, the Royal Library, and others. It takes place on the Stage. The library is accessible for wheelchair users, walkers, and strollers; hearing-impaired visitors are welcome to bring their own assistive devices.
