Nature's Day 2026 at Avnø Nature Center

This year's Nature's Day at Avnø Nature Center focuses on micro-bioblitz: the goal is to record as many species as possible by the lake, scrubland, and coast. Guides, species sheets, and a full programme are ready for all participants.

Programme (10:00-13:00):
10:00 - 10:10 Opening of Nature's Day by the Nature Center
10:00 - 11:30 Guided bird walk with DOF
10:10 - 13:00 Species hunt by lake and coast
10:30 - 12:00 Guided biodiversity walk with DN/DOF
11:30 - 13:00 Guided plant walk with the Danish Nature Agency Storstrøm

After the species hunt by the lake, there is an opportunity to enjoy hot cocoa or coffee and bake pancakes over a bonfire. Packed lunches can be eaten around the area - the bonfire house is also open this day.

Children must participate with a responsible adult. All activities take place regardless of weather, so bring clothes suited to the weather - and a bit extra. Bring your own packed lunch and drinks.
