KARUSEL | Open Listening #3

KARUSEL is a jazz quartet of four young musicians from Roskilde. Their debut EP comes out this autumn, and tonight they perform selected songs live and talk about the creative process behind the recordings. The band will also discuss music throughout the evening - the distinctive Danish jazz sound and why it's worth spending time making music together and sharing it with others. Vinyl records will be played.

The band works with elements from the lyrical Scandinavian music tradition and expressive jazz, where strong melodies meet a minimalist sonic universe in their own compositions.

Daniel Hougaard-Jakobsen: drums
Otto Schreiner Elberling: bass

Three of the band's members graduated from Roskilde Gymnasium last year.
