Book Talk With Molly Crabapple: Here Where We Live Is Our Country

Molly Crabapple visits Copenhagen for a book talk about her new work Here Where We Live Is Our Country: The Story of the Jewish Bund. The event is hosted by Jews for Just Peace of 5784 (JFRF) and consists of a 30-minute conversation followed by 30 minutes of questions from the audience. The book tells the story of the Bund, a secular, socialist, and anti-Zionist Jewish workers' movement, and its struggle for dignity and equality "here, where we live" rather than in an imagined homeland in Palestine.

Molly Crabapple is a New York Times bestselling author, activist, and artist. She began her career as a house artist in New York's most notorious nightclubs and later became a journalist covering Occupy Wall Street, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Guantanamo Bay, the US-Mexico border, and Hurricane Maria's devastation in Puerto Rico - through both words and drawings. As an animator, she has collaborated with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Jay Z, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch, and her animations are permanently displayed at the Equal Justice Initiative's Legacy Museum in Montgomery, Alabama. Her art is held in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the US Library of Congress, Columbia University, and the New York Historical Society.
