Concert with Joakim Okkels & Jesper Lohmann

It all started at Tønder Festival 2025, when Joakim Okkels and Jesper Lohmann unexpectedly found themselves on the same stage. Radio host Alex Nyborg Madsen later described the duo as a "father-and-son constellation in the folk scene".

The concert draws on Joakim Okkels' own compositions and Lohmann's back catalogue - Danish folk songs, Otto Brandenburg, and Johnny Cash in Danish translations. Okkels is a singer and songwriter from Sønderjylland who releases music with his orchestra Mallemuk, most recently the album "Eviggrøn 2000". In the autumn he performs as a regular opener for Allan Olsen. Lohmann is from the western suburbs of Copenhagen.

About the venue: Posthusteatret

Posthusteatret is housed in the historic post office building on Købmagergade in Copenhagen, dating from the late 19th century. The theatre stages musicals, revues and entertainment shows in an intimate auditorium framed by striking period architecture. Its setting in a listed building gives performances a character quite different from the city's larger stages.
