Special Tour: The Sound of Hanne Lippard

This special tour slows down the pace and focuses attention on a single work: Vox Humana (2026) by Hanne Lippard in Sct. Ibs Church Ruin. The format responds to the fact that museum visitors typically spend 8 seconds on each work - here there is time to listen slowly and attentively, allowing thoughts, sensory impressions and associations to emerge together.

Hanne Lippard (b. 1984) is a Norwegian-Icelandic artist based in Berlin. Vox Humana was created specifically for the exhibition and draws on the church ruin's history, architecture and sound. Using the voice as both a human and material phenomenon, the work explores the relationship between the divine and the synthetic, the natural and the artificial.

The work is part of the exhibition The Sound of, which presents contemporary art with a focus on sound's poetic, political and sensory potentials. Among the participating artists are Hajra Waheed, Clara Mosconi, Julian Abraham 'Togar', Emeka Ogboh, Cally Spooner, Francesco Fonassis, Arendse Krabbe and Annika Kahrs. The exhibition was created in collaboration with Moderna Museet Malmö and includes several newly produced works as well as a programme of performances, conversations and activities.
