Book Launch with Signe Biering Röpke & Anatolie Cantir — Hovedbiblioteket, Odense
Free entry

Signe Biering Röpke and Anatolie Cantir launch their new book "The Unhappiest Expats in the Happiest Country in the World" with an official book event at Borgernes Hus in Odense.

The book is based on a conversation between two people who have both experienced Danish culture from different sides - Signe was born here and returned after years abroad, while Anatolie came from outside and has made Denmark his home. Together they explore what it means to belong in a country that prioritizes equality, trust, and happiness - and why these very values can create invisible barriers for expats trying to find their footing.

During the event, the authors discuss the book's central themes through five deeply rooted Danish values: equality, trust, independence, privacy, and humor. Their argument is that the same values admired both inside and outside Denmark can pose real challenges for integration - not because one culture is better than another, but because the cultural expectations beneath the surface are often overlooked by both Danes and expats.

The event is free, but registration is mandatory. Limited spaces available. Location: The Stage on the 2nd floor.
