Bib i Bio: Hamnet

The film Hamnet follows William Shakespeare, his perceptive and strong-willed wife Agnes, and their reactions to grief when one of their children dies of plague. It is not a Shakespeare portrait, but rather a portrayal of sorrow, love, and loss - and how deep pain can sometimes give birth to great art. The film is based on Maggie O'Farrell's novel of the same name.

In the lead role as Agnes, Jessie Buckley delivers a performance that earned her an Oscar.
