In the Shadow of Cancer with Ken Leschley

Fifteen years ago, Ken Leschley had a completely different life: two timber merchants in Egå and Aars, plans for further expansion, a wife, children, and a villa. Then everything began to fall apart. One tragedy followed another, and Ken eventually made a drastic decision - he sold almost everything and left the life he had built.

Since then, the sea has been his home. The 64-year-old former entrepreneur now lives on his three-masted boat, where he has had his address for 15 years.

Cancer has followed Ken closely for more than two decades. Eight people from his immediate family have been struck by the disease, and 23 years ago he himself was diagnosed with lung cancer and lost half of one lung. He still lives with the knowledge that the disease could return, and must therefore be scanned every three months for the rest of his life.

The lecture takes place in the Halls at Kolding Library. The event is free, but requires a ticket.
