PRiMi invites a renowned artist to develop, rehearse and perform a special musical project together with emerging talents from Copenhagen's music scene. For this first PRiMi Lab evening, Canadian pianist and composer Lisa Cay Miller (she/her) is the musical inspiration for an ensemble of musicians from the Danish improvised music scene.
Miller improvises with and composes for musicians around the world and is artistic director of NOW Society in Vancouver, where she organizes events, workshops and local initiatives in improvised music. "The Vancouver-based pianist Lisa Miller deserves to be regarded as one of the leading figures in the new improvisation wave." - The Globe and Mail
She has performed with, among others, Satoko Fujii, Adriana Camancho, Luke Stewart, Ken Vandermark, Nicole Mitchell, Butch Morris, Ingrid Laubrock, John Dikeman, Anne La Berge, Nora Mulder, Ada Rave, Mary Oliver, Michael Moore, Wilbert de Joode, Jasper Stadhouders, Vicky Mettler, Kenton Loewen, Joshua Zubot and NOW ensembles. Her discography includes releases on Green Ideas (Sleep Furiously, Q, waterwall), Trytone (682/281) and Notice (Grind Halts). Miller's compositions have been premiered by, among others, mmm...
