Upcycle Café - textile workshop: 29 October – 10 December 2026, Biblioteket i Herning, Herning.

Upcycle Café is for anyone who wants to give old clothes a new life - either by repairing them or making them more personal, so you avoid buying new.

You can get help and ideas for decorating an old shirt, covering a stain on your favourite jumper, hemming trousers, or something completely different. There are sewing machines, embroidery machines, and the option to print on textiles. Fabric scraps, buttons and similar materials are available, but you bring your own clothes to work with.

There is guidance for the machines, but you operate them yourself. Registration is not required. Upcycle Café is for participants aged 16 and up.

About the venue: Biblioteket i Herning

Biblioteket i Herning opened in August 2014 in the city centre on Østergade, designed by Kristian H. Nielsen and GPP Arkitekterne. At nearly 6,000 m², it houses five kilometres of shelving in the book section known as Dybet, two bookable meeting rooms, a MakerSpace and a café. Beyond lending, the library hosts lectures, cultural events and IT guidance, and also serves as the central library for 19 municipalities in the Central Denmark Region.
