Knud Romer & Mikael K
Knud Romer & Mikael K concert: Wednesday 17 March 2027, 20:00–21:30, Ikast Bibliotek, Ikast.
Abandoned Places & The Sound of Belonging
Author Knud Romer and songwriter Mikael K meet for a concert-storytelling about places, belonging, and sung Danish. Together they take the audience home - to Falster and Vendsyssel - through songs and poetry from regions where language has resonance and roots run deep.
Knud Romer is known for his award-winning novels and has collaborated with Peter Sommer, Andreas Odbjerg, and the Danish String Quartet, among others. In 2024 he received a knighthood for his contribution to Danish art and culture. Mikael K has toured for over two decades, solo and with the band Klondyke, and has seven critically acclaimed albums to his name, along with awards including the P4 Prize, DMA Folk, and the Carl Scharnberg Prize. He writes about the life we rarely sing about: laundromats, IKEA arguments, and worn-out marriages.
If you wish to read Knud Romer's novels before or after the event, several of his books can be borrowed from Ikast-Brande Library.
