Knud Romer (born 1960 in Nykøbing Falster) is a Danish author, lecturer and cultural commentator who broke through with his debut novel "Den som blinker er bange for døden" (2006), an autobiographical account of growing up as the child of a German mother in a small Danish town. The book became a bestseller and won him several prizes, including De Gyldne Laurbær (the Danish booksellers' prize) and Weekendavisens Litteraturpris. He has since published novels, short stories and children's books, and is a regular voice in Danish cultural debate.
